Spot rates for container shipping fell on a number of routes

Significantly increased rates from China to the ports of Northern Europe, a significant reduction in rates was observed in the South American trade. Thus, rates from Shanghai to the ports of the range Hamburg – Le Havre increased by 7.1%, rates on the Mediterranean direction remained at the level of 17 weeks.
Spot rates on ports on the west coast of the United States decreased by 8.1%, while rates on ports on the east coast rose by 0.2%.
The rates from China to the Persian Gulf last week fell by 9.1%, and rates for Australia and New Zealand – by 3.4%. Rates for South America decreased by 17.5% compared with 17 weeks of the year.
On intra-Asian trade, the rates from China to the western ports of Japan increased by 0.4%, on the eastern ones – by 1.7%. Rates for Singapore declined by 0.7%, while South Korea remained unchanged.
