In January-October, Ukrainian seaports reduced container turnover by 3%

According to the actual data of the SУ “Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority” (USPA), for 10 months of 2021, Ukrainian seaports reduced container turnover by 3% compared to the same period in 2020 – up to 840,965 TEU.

Thus, export container traffic decreased by 3.5% — to 394,957 TEU, import — by 3.6% — to 410,103 TEU, transit – by 10% – to 35,337 TEU. In cabotage, the transshipment of containers amounted to 568 TEU.

The Port of Odesa increased container turnover by 2.2% to 552,436 TEU, the Port of Yuzhny reduced container turnover by 8.2% to 186,836 TEU, the Port of Chornomorsk reduced container turnover by 19% to 101,489 TEU, SMP Olvia handled 202 TEU against 420 TEU a year earlier.

Transshipment of containers provided 8.1% of the cargo turnover of seaports. The transshipment of containers in quantitative terms decreased by 7% to 500,378 units.
