Navigation of ships on the Suez Canal is gradually resumed

Traffic on the Suez Canal is gradually resuming after the stranded container ship Ever Given was refloated. It is reported by the Reuters.

Today, on Monday, at 17:00 GMT (20:00 Kyiv time), the Suez Canal will be reopened for shipping in both directions. The container ship was taken off the shoal and sent to the area of the Bitter Lakes to undergo technical inspection. Almost 400 vessels are waiting in line to pass through the channel.

Recall you that on March 23rd, container ship Ever Given (length – 400 m, width – 59 m), owned by the Taiwanese company Evergreen Marine Corporation, heading from China to the port of Rotterdam (the Netherlands), got stuck in the Suez Canal, which led to significant obstacles for maritime navigation around the world.
