Poland will increase the number of additional permits for Ukrainian road carriers

For the first time in five years, Ukraine and Poland have agreed on a significant increase in additional permits for trucking. So, first the Ukrainian side will receive 20,000 additional permits, and then another 10,000. This is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine.

“We have held very important and productive negotiations with the Polish delegation regarding permits for international road transport. We agreed to exchange 20,000 additional permits by the end of August this year. And another 10,000 permits will be exchanged by the parties in November this year, subject to the implementation of the joint Ukrainian-Polish plan for the development of the infrastructure of international automobile checkpoints,” Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov said.

Recall that in 2018 Poland reduced the quota of international permits for road freight transport for Ukraine from 200,000 to 160,000. Since then, the number of additional permits for Ukraine has decreased annually. In particular, 10,000 permits were granted in 2019, and 9,700 in 2020. The situation became critical last year, when for the first time the Polish side did not provide any additional permits for Ukraine.
