Ukrzaliznytsia canceled the surcharge for the supply of wagons to inactive stations

Rating analysis of the operation of freight stations and the charge by Ukrzaliznytsia (“UZ”) of additional fees for the supply of wagons to inactive stations have finally been canceled. Valerii Tkachov, deputy director of the Director of the Department of Commercial Work, wrote about this on his Facebook page.

«By the decision of the management board, the rating of freight stations was finally canceled and the charge of additional fees for the supply of wagons to low-activity freight stations was stopped. Prior to that, there was only a temporary suspension of the rating procedure. Lifting restrictions will stimulate the growth of cargo transportation by Ukrainian Railways, and a large number of shippers in all regions of the country will have access to railway transport services», Tkachov says.

Tkachev also noted that at the same time, the management of “UZ” will continue to look for ways to optimize the low-activity railway infrastructure and reduce the cost of its maintenance.
