In January-March, Ukrainian transport companies reduced cargo turnover by almost 15%

According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, for the period from January to March 2020, transport companies reduced the volume of cargo transportation compared to the same period last year by 13.1% up to 140.7 million tons. The freight turnover of transport enterprises fell by 14.9% to 68.9 billion ton-kilometers.

Railway freight turnover amounted to 43,541.2 million ton-kilometers (95.2% of the 2019 figure), 73.9 million tons (95.9%) were transported. The freight turnover of vehicles amounted to 10,583.9 million ton-kilometers (96.9%), 43.7 million tons (82.1%) were transported. The freight turnover of water transport amounted to 570.8 million ton-kilometers (83.6%), 0.9 million tons (87.4%) were transported. Air freight turnover amounted to 51.1 million ton-kilometers (69.9%), 0.02 million tons (86.4%) were transported.
