A container ship Conmar Avenue ran into a gateway at the entrance to the Kiel canal

3 Feb 2017 20:45 container ship Conmar Avenue (IMO 9483358, flag Antigua and Barbuda), EN route from Rauma, Finland to Hamburg, Germany, collided with the gateway in the Kiel-Holtenau at the entrance to the Kiel canal, reports Lloyd’s list.

Shortly thereafter, the ship entered the southern gateway at low speed.

The incident occurred in the conditions of limited visibility. The gateway was closed. The water police launched an investigation into the incident. With a pilot boat Holtenau was made a visual inspection of the vessel, after which it continued its flight on 4 February at 07:00 arrived safely at the port of Dradenau in Hamburg.
