According to the results of 2021, the cargo turnover of Ukrainian seaports fell by 3.8%

According to the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA), in 2021, the seaports of Ukraine reduced cargo turnover by 3.8% compared to the previous year – to 153.076 million tons (-6.04 million tons).

In 2021, 4% less cargo was handled in exports – up to 118.1 million tons, transit decreased by 14.3% — up to 8.6 million tons, and cabotage – by 2.4% – up to 2.3 million tons. At the same time, the transshipment of imported goods increased by 1.5% to 24 million tons.

In total, the ports handled grain cargo and ore — 49.9 million tons (+3.9%) and 37.75 million tons (-14.8%), respectively. Transshipment of petroleum products increased significantly — by 82% (up to 1.93 million tons), construction materials – by 69.2%, up to 3.88 million tons).

It is worth noting that container turnover in Ukrainian seaports fell by 2.6% last year to 1,021,621 TEU.
