Container turnover of Ukrainian sea ports in January-February grew by 16.6%

According to SE “Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority” (USPA), since the beginning of 2019, sea ports of Ukraine have increased container turnover compared to the same period last year to 144 778 TEU, which is 16.6% in percentage. It is noted that the processing of containers in exports increased by 15.7% — to 68 602 TEU, in transit — by 56.9%, to 6826 TEU. At the same time, the processing of imported containers decreased by 0.8% to 60,046 TEU, and the transshipment of containers in domestic traffic amounted to 9,304 TEU.

Odessa Sea Port reduced container turnover by 1.8% — up to 89 870 TEU. At the same time, the transshipment of export containers increased by 4.8% — to 41,942 TEU, transit — by 16.9%, to 4542 TEU, and the processing of import containers decreased by 28.5% — to 34,082 TEU. Transshipment of containers in domestic traffic amounted to 9304 TEU.

Yuzhny Sea Port increased the container ship three times — up to 34 754 TEU. Including transshipment of import containers increased 2.6 times — to 16 839 TEU, export — 3.1 times, to 15 631 TEU, transit — 9.2 times, to 2284 TEU.

Chornomorsk Sea Port has reduced container turnover 3% — 20 134 TEU. Including transshipment of export containers decreased by 22.4% — to 11 016 TEU. Processing of imported containers increased by 39.2% to 9118 TEU.
