DP World has shown the principle of operation of the innovation system of storage containers
As we reported earlier, the world’s largest port operator DP World together with the German company SMS Group will introduce an “intelligent” container storage system in the port of Jebel Ali (Dubai, UAE). Now the company has shown how it will work.
Instead of installing containers one on another, the new system is a rack of 11 “floors” in which each container is placed in a separate cell.
According to the company in a joint statement, the use of the system will increase the efficiency of terminal space by 200% compared to the standard practice of container storage. At the same time, in order to get “off the shelf” one container, you do not need to remove the other.
