In 2018, the port of Odessa handled 186 container trains

Container trains that run from Odessa-Port station in the direction of Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro and Rozhnyativ (Ivano-Frankivsk region), proved their economic efficiency and reduced the delivery time of containerized cargo by 70% (approximately 100 hours) compared with conventional transportations freight train. This was mentioned in the report of the chief of the Odessa branch of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) Igor Tkachuk.

Also in the report it is said about attraction by the Odessa port in 2018 of additional container lines and feeder service: ONE, Hapag Lloyd, Arkas.

Earlier, we wrote that in 2018 “Ukrzaliznytsia” transported 334 963 TEU, which is 13% more than in 2017 (295 479 TEU). The increase occurred in all types of communications: transit – by 24%, export – by 17%, domestic – by 11% and import – by 8%.
