In 2020, the volume of cargo transportation in Ukraine fell by 11.2%

According to the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine, in 2020, the volume of cargo transportation decreased by 11.2% compared to the same period last year — to 600 million tons.

Thus, railway transportation for the year fell by 2.4% – to 305.5 million tons; road – by 21.7% – to 191.3 million tons; sea/river — by 8.3% – to 5.6 million tons; pipeline — by 13.5% – to 97.5 million tons; aviation – by 6.7% – to 0.1 million tons.

The cargo turnover of transport enterprises decreased – by 14.3% – to 290.3 billion ton-kilometers. Cargo turnover of railway transport enterprises decreased by 3.4% — to 175.5 billion ton-kilometers; water transport — by 15.4% — to 2.8 billion ton-kilometers; road transport – by 13.5% – to 42.2 billion ton-kilometers; pipeline transport – by 33.7% – to 69.2 billion ton-kilometers. At the same time, it is worth noting that air transport companies, on the contrary, increased cargo turnover by 5.2% – to 310.9 million ton-kilometers.
