In the first quarter of 2020 container turnover of Ukrainian ports increased by 18.8%

According to the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA), since the beginning of 2020, Ukrainian seaports have increased container turnover compared to the same period last year to 265,499 TEU, which is a percentage of 18.8%. It is noted that container handling in export increased by 20.2% to 127,649 TEU, in import by 17.5% to 126,440 TEU, in transit by 17.8% to 11,410 TEU.

The Port of Odessa increased container turnover by 16% to 163,215 TEU. At the same time, the transshipment of import containers increased by 15.1% to 78,906 TEU, export containers by 18.7% to 77,092 TEU, and transit containers by 16.9% to 4,542 TEU.

The Port of “Pivdennyi” increased container turnover by 18.3% to 61,528 TEU. Including transshipment of import containers increased by 15.7% to 29,579 TEU, export by 16.4% to 27,756 TEU, transit by 62.8% to 4,193 TEU.

The port of “Chornomorsk” increased container turnover by 31.7% to 40,576 TEU. In particular, export container traffic increased by 30.3% to 22,635 TEU, and import by 33.4% to 17,941 TEU.

The Specialized Sea Port “Olvia” processed 180 TEU against 30 TEU a year earlier (for export — 166 TEU, for import — 14 TEU).
