Minister of infrastructure Volodymyr Omelyan appealed to South Korean investors with a proposal to take part in the development of freight and passenger transportation by inland waterways of Ukraine. Such an appeal was made by the politician at a meeting with South Korean Ambassador Lee Young-Gu in Kyiv.

In a chat with the Korean Ambassador, Omelyan spoke about the prospects for the growth of the domestic water freight market and invited investors from the Asian country to cooperate in this area. In particular, it was about the construction of barges, transshipment terminals and river stations in Ukraine.

Recall that in 2018, 9905.9 thousand tons of cargo were transported along the Dnipro river, which is 22.4% more than a year earlier, when 8095.4 thousand tons of cargo passed through the main waterway of Ukraine.
