The world’s largest container shipping company decided to leave Odessa Sea Port

The world’s largest container operator Maersk Line from 1st of April, 2018 eliminates the Odessa Sea Port from rotation on its Black Sea service. This is reported in the letters that were sent by the management of this company to their customers. The reasons of departure from the port of Odessa is not specified.

“From April we will no longer carry out vessel calls in the port of Odessa, and we kindly ask you to decide which alternative port of discharge, you prefer”, the letter reads.

While Maersk Line is to replace two options for shipping containers – port “Chornomorsk” (fish terminal) or the port of “Yuzhny” (terminal TIS).
