Ukraine and Turkey will lift restrictions on cargo transportation

Ukraine and Turkey have agreed to liberalize freight transport since 2019. The states agreed on this during the meeting of the Ukrainian-Turkish Mixed Commission on international road transport, which took place on October 3-4 in Ankara.
The most important achievement is the agreement on the transition to a permissive system of bilateral and transit cargo transportation. By the end of October 2018, the parties should work out the relevant draft Protocol on amendments to the existing bilateral agreement, as well as make every effort to sign it in 2019.
It is also noted that by the time of signing and entry into force of the relevant amendments to the Agreement, the parties agreed, starting from 2019, to exchange additional permits for bilateral transport in unlimited quantities, to meet the needs of domestic carriers.
