Successful humanitarian aid delivery — 59 units of special-purpose vehicles for Ukraine

Route: Taiwan ➔ Gdańsk ➔ Lviv

For the transportation of this special equipment, various types of 40-foot containers were used. Fire trucks were placed on 9 Flat Rack platforms to ensure the secure fastening of oversized units. At the same time, ambulances were delivered in 31 High Cube containers — the increased height of these containers provided the necessary space for safe sea transit.

We are proud to be part of such projects.

From Raw Material Import to Finished Product Export

The Global Ocean Link team recently completed a compelling case study involving a full-cycle logistics solution for a tobacco manufacturer.
The first stage involved the delivery of cigarette filters from Malaysia to Ukraine under FCA terms, requiring strict adherence to specific temperature and humidity levels. The transportation was carried out with transshipment in Gdansk or Koper. Throughout all stages, the cargo was transported in refrigerated conditions, with each pallet equipped with a data logger to continuously monitor temperature and humidity along the entire route. Upon arrival, the client verified the logger data and confirmed that there were no deviations.
Following production, these filters are used to manufacture cigarettes, after which we manage the export of the finished goods to Saudi Arabia via the Port of Constanta. This process is also handled in reefers, maintaining rigorous temperature and humidity control at every stage of transport.

Air freight of ADR cargo to Nigeria

The Global Ocean Link team continues to expand the geography of complex logistics projects. Recently, we successfully executed the air transportation of chemical products classified as ADR (dangerous goods) on a route via Frankfurt to Nigeria.

The cargo was packaged in strict accordance with ADR requirements, ensuring safe transportation and full compliance with international regulations for the carriage of dangerous goods. Logistics coordination and delivery support were managed by Associate Partner Anna Khakhva, who ensured control over all stages of transportation—from cargo pickup to its departure through the international air hub.

Thanks to seamless teamwork and precise coordination of all processes, the cargo was delivered to the recipient within one week from the moment of pickup. Such shipments require experience, precision, and a deep understanding of international logistics standards—qualities that allow us to effectively implement even the most challenging routes.

BESS system from China to Ukraine

The main challenge of the project was the transportation of equipment from the Port of Shanghai to Odesa, which required a combined approach to packaging and logistics: the main 10-foot module was securely loaded onto a Flat Rack for the safe transport of oversized cargo, while the storage batteries were transported separately in a 20-foot container in strict compliance with all safety regulations.

In addition to energy storage systems (BESS), we are actively involved in the delivery of solar panels from China, utilizing key European ports such as Gdansk, Rotterdam, Antwerp, and Koper. For every order, we select the discharge port individually, focusing on optimal delivery times and the most cost-effective price for the client. We take pride in our team’s professionalism and are always open to discussing logistics strategies for your projects.

What to do when you have a partner in Kazakhstan?

Buckwheat delivery from Kazakhstan to Ukraine.

We have organized an optimal route via Lithuania to avoid unnecessary costs for the client and accelerate logistics.

How it worked:

  1. Railway (Kazakhstan — Lithuania): Our responsibility and scope of work covered the Lithuanian segment, specifically: Full control of railway inspections and passing food safety authorities in Lithuania, including all Lithuanian railway fees.

  2. No-queue Terminal: We organized immediate acceptance of railcars, saving the client from overpaying for demurrage (standing time).

  3. Warehouse Logistics: Rapid transshipment in Lithuania and processing of complex documents for “food transit.”

  4. Synchronized Trucking: Simultaneous dispatch of a group of trucks for each railcar (“1 railcar = 1 batch”). Loading without downtime and precise document management.

Important: There are currently specialized and more cost-effective services available than standard road transport on the Ukraine — Kazakhstan — Ukraine route that DO NOT CROSS hostile territory.

Delivery of steel coils along the India – Poland – Ukraine route

A complex logistics project involving the delivery of steel coils along the India – Poland – Ukraine route 🌐

The key challenge was the unexpected refusal of the Port of Gdansk to accept the cargo, despite the bill of lading being issued for this port by the Indian sender.
The situation required quick response: we tracked the vessel’s movement between ports and negotiated with various terminals regarding unloading and cargo handling possibilities. Additional complexity arose from the presence of a larger cargo shipment on board, which competed with our shipment for port resources.
Despite all difficulties, we managed not only to find an optimal unloading solution but also maintained the initial rates for the Ukrainian client, avoiding additional costs. We provided a full range of services: organization of loading/unloading operations at the port, customs clearance, transport arrangement, and timely cargo removal.
This case demonstrates our ability to act effectively in non-standard situations while maintaining high service quality and protecting the client’s interests.

Shipment of 1.5 thousand tons of oil to China in transit through Poland

Cargo: Oil

Volume: 1.5 thousand tons

Departure: Ukraine

Destination: China

The transportation of cargo across a few countries is always a difficult challenge. It is necessary to know the peculiarities of the process not only at the organizational level, but also to understand many legal and technical aspects so that the cargo can get from point A to point B without any problems. The Global Ocean Link team has enough professionalism to do this work efficiently. Although, we admit, sometimes customer orders become “tasks with an asterisk” for us. But at the same time, it is an opportunity to improve ourselves, improve our service and gain new experience. Let’s talk about one such case in more detail.

Oil transportation to China via Poland

So, we received a large-scale customer order for the transportation of 1.5 thousand tons of oil from Ukraine to China. Developing the optimal logistics route, we decided to transport the cargo in transit through Poland to the port of Gdansk.

The task was not easy and involved a lot of work. We loaded an entire train with oil in 62 containers, each 20 ft long. The cargo successfully arrived in Gdansk, after which the oil was reloaded onto a container ship and shipped to Shanghai. In order for everything to go smoothly, it was necessary to ensure that all the links in the logistics chain worked together. We coped with the task perfectly, and the client company was satisfied.

Working with such cases is a great responsibility. When such a volume of cargo is transported over a long distance by several modes of transport with overload, the team of the logistics company that takes it on must be aware of even the smallest technical and legal nuances. This is what makes it possible to properly organize and monitor transportation at all stages.

Discharge of 3 thousand tons of NPK fertilizers by bulk in the Port of Orlovka

Cargo: NPK fertilizers

Location: Orlivka port, Ukraine

Among the services provided by Global Ocean Link is the unloading of cargo from ships and its subsequent packaging into big bags. As a rule, these big bags are then loaded into road transport for transportation to the destination of the client company.

Another successful case of unloading a large volume of fertilizers

We used the above algorithm when we had to unload and pack 3,000 tons of NPK* fertilizers* that were transported in bulk. Working with such large volumes of cargo and responsible orders is part of the daily work of the GOL team. Therefore, we know how to provide these services to ensure that the cargo is preserved and packaged in the best possible way.

* By the way, the abbreviation NPK in the fertilizer labeling indicates that it contains 3 main elements – nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K). It may also contain macro- and microelements and binding salts.

Our company works with various types of cargo because our team is well aware of all the necessary regulations and standards for the provision of services for each case, considering its specifics.
